BLESSING & SENDING OUR PRIEST INTO THE WORLD
Rev. Amy:  In the Great Commission given in Matthew's Gospel, Jesus tells us to go and make disciples.  In his Gospel, Mark reports that Jesus told us to go and tell the good news to everyone, everywhere.  Jesus tells us in the Gospel of Luke that He is sending forth the promise of God with us.  And in the Gospel of John, Jesus says, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you to go," and, "As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."   The Lord himself has commanded us to go into all the world. Mission trips are steps toward fulfilling Christ's Great Commission.  This afternoon, I will embark on a mission trip to Ghana, where I will seek God's face in others, offer God's love in Christ, and ask God’s light to illumine our similarities.

All: We offer our blessing to you; to each of the Echoing Green Fellows and all who are traveling with you; and to the people of Ghana you will soon meet.

Rev. Amy:  With challenges ahead I affirm that I will rely on the greatest shepherd. Jesus knows what I will need and where to find it.

All:  We thank God for our shared inspiration.  We offer our prayers and support as you set out for this adventure with God and the people of Ghana.  May the Shepherd of all of our souls lead you, bless you, and make you a blessing as you serve and learn in West Africa.
